Joseph Randle Arrested For Shoplifting; Punishments Include $29, 117 Fine And Community Service
Joseph Randle, the Dallas Cowboy's reserve, was arrested in a case of shoplifting in one of the suburban malls on Oct. 13, Monday.
Lt. Jason Jenkins, a Frisco police said that Randle was charged for Class B theft, which damages range from $50- $500, but was released under writ bond, Tuesday. He added, the Cowboy reserve was accused of stealing two packs of Polo black underwear that had a total value of $39.50 and a Gucci Guilty Black tester cologne bottle that was $84 worth from one of the shops at Stonebriar Centre Mall.
After being held at the back of Frisco, Texas police car, Randle told officer Jason Kimbrough that he would've kept walking towards his car when he was confronted by Raymond Wymer, the mall security officer.
The arrest report stated that the security officers of the store, who were watching the close-circuit surveillance, observed the Cowboy member purchase an item at the counter before heading onto the underwear section and intentionally conceal a merchandise in his bag. Then, he exited the store before he was called-out by the security in the parking area.
On Wednesday, the Dallas Cowboy team headed by coach Jason Garett and executive vice president Stephen Jones, released a statement through The USA Today that they will fine Randle an amount of $29, 117- the amount he earns every week on his current base salary, but will not put him under suspension punishment. The set amount is said to become their "disciplinary" action on him.
Aside from the monetary fine, he'll also be doing community service, Jones said.
Joseph Randle, currently is receiving $495, 000 as a base salary. He is his team's fifth-round pick back in 2013 and has rushed 16 carries and 113 yards this season. He has, actually, rushed 52 yards in 5 carries during Sunday's win against the Seattle Seahawks.
Coach Garett told the reporters "He took full responsibility for it. There were a lot of circumstances that were surrounding the situation, but there are no excuses, no explanations for this and he took full responsibility."
Randle, also, has revealed to the Dallas Morning News that he has already ask apologies from his teammates.
