iOS 8 Release Date in USA: Apple Upgrade Coming on Monday
Although there is no doubt that Apple's new operating system for handheld devices is one of the most promising things on technology segment, most users have shied away from the update for a number of reasons. Software analysts say that slow adoption rate is a mixture of concern and lack of time. Most users cannot really spend a lot of time without using their phones and the update takes well over a couple of hours, only if the internet connection is good enough. Other iPhone and iPad users are concerned with the complaints all across the internet.
Taking note of these common issues, Apple announced an upgrade to iOS 8 in a special event held this Thursday in California. According to Mac World, this upgrade will be rolled out on Monday but there are no details on how much time and space will it consume this time.
Notably, Apple has already provided iOS 8.0.1 and iOS 8.0.2 in the last couple of weeks for improving the performance of different devices. This small updates helped iPhone connect with cellular networks better along with other bug and security fixes. However, these two small updates hasn't helped many Apple product users and now they await a big fix especially for devices like iPhone 4S and iPhone 5C.
Apple iOS 8.1 will apparently deal with battery issues and will be compatible with iPod Touch 5th Generation, iPad 2, iPad 3rd and 4th Generation, iPad Mini, Retina Display iPad Mini, iPad Air, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5 C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. This update will also deal with common lagging, keyboard, and iCloud photo features on the mentioned devices. Experts believe that it won't be a huge update and will only take half an hour time to get installed on the device.
However, the most important part of this update will be Apple Pay support on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which was not there in Apple iOS 8. More than 300 financial and retail institutes have already supported this payment system that is touted as the future of wallets. It uses an NFC chip already fitted in new iPhones to facilitate payment with the help of Touch ID. Unfortunately, this chip is not available in any of the previous devices than iPhone 6. However Apple plans to help those users with the launch of Watch next year. This Apple Watch connects to devices like iPhone 5, 5C, and 5S to initiate payment procedures.
