Sony Xperia Z3: Sony's Flagship Smartphone Gets Support From T-Mobile, Verizon
Sony fans can't wait for the Sony Xperia Z3 to dominate in the market. According to CNET, the newest smartphone by Sony will touch the market on October 29, few days from now. It will head to largest wireless carrier, T-Mobile. T-mobile has been Sony's toughest enthusiast, supporting both the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1S. The release is six days after its customized version, the Sony Xperia Z3v, which is exclusively released by Verizon Wireless.
It is more favorable for Sony that its flagship smartphone is to be marketed by two giant wireless carriers in the United States, letting it reach more mobile clients in the country.
For the mobile installment plan, Sony Xperia Z3 will be sold by T-Mobile for $26.24 per month for two years. This positions its overall cost to $630. Last October 15, customers can set a preorder for the smartphone on T-mobile's website.
PlayStation 4 fans will be much more thrilled because both Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3v have the Remote Play feature. They are the first Sony smartphones that can be strapped to a PlayStation 4 controller and play games, according to another report in CNET. This employs the "One Sony" approach to incorporate Furthermore, Sony Mobile US president Ravi Nookala said in a statement, according to the website. "There's no phone that comes close to the entire value proposition when it comes to the hardware, consumer experience, content and gaming," he said. "That will position us uniquely in the market compared to any brand," Nookala added.
Sony Computer Entertainment Vice President of Market John Koller also said in a statement in CNET, "From a value proposition standpoint, we thought it was critical to extend Remote Play to the best smartphone in the market."
Meanwhile, the other wireless carrier, Verizon will begin marketing the said smartphone on October 23, 2014, with a cost of $199 for a 24-month contract. Aside from the Xperia Z3v, Sony will include PlayStation 4 Dual-Shock controllers plus a wireless charging pad. This is to employ the wireless charging feature, which separates it from its relative Xperia Z3.
With regard to the specifications, Xperia Z3 uses a Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 5.2 inch display with 1080p resolution, and also a 3,100mAh battery, which is believed to sustain the smartphone in more than a day, according to Phandroid.
Irish Times also revealed that the Xperia Z3 will have a compact version with 2.5 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage, which can be increased to 128GB using a microSD card.
With its new features and connections with wireless carriers, Sony is positioning itself to a increase in sales in the upcoming weeks.
