Marvel's "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" Official Trailer Leaked Prior to Scheduled Premiere Date
The eagerly awaited trailer for Joss Whedon's "Avengers: Age of Ultron", a Marvel Studios production, will be shown for the first time on October 28, 2014, during an episode of Marvel's TV show "Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D." Speculations subsequently emerged, suggesting that the premiere of the trailer will be shown in this way to lift the ratings of "Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D.," which has struggled to attract significant audience numbers. However, Marvel may simply be trying to replicate previous success, as episodes of the Marvel TV show were shown during the release of box office hit "Captain America: The Winter Soldier."
Initially, it was expected that Marvel would show the maiden trailer of the film in November, just before the screenings of the upcoming "Interstellar" science fiction film. Regardless of Marvel's decision, though, Hitflix reported that the new trailer leaked on October 22, six days ahead of schedule—the video clip was immediately taken down. But, despite the prompt response of Marvel Studios, the damage was already done. Marvel has alleged that HYDRA is culpable for the incident.
The Atlantic has already aired updates regarding the leaked trailer, and observations were made on subjects like the character of Ultron (James Spader), the fate of the Avengers and the intriguing presence of ballerinas in one of the scenes. (The appearance of ballerinas was considered unexpected for an action-packed Marvel movie.)
Nevertheless, the "Avengers: Age of Ultron", distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, is scheduled for release on May 1, 2015, and should again reaffirm the expertise of Marvel Studios in the production of films in this genre.
In regard to a separate matter, Den of Geek reported that California offers tax incentives to movie producers, but most Marvel movies, including "Avengers:Age of Ultron," were made in the United Kingdom. Considering the potential financial benefits, Marvel Studios may need to consider Los Angeles as the setting for future film projects.
