Madonna herself has also taken to Instagram to give her reaction to Sister Cristina Scuccia's remake of her hit song.
"Like A Virgin? #bitinghard," she captioned a combined photo of her and the singing nun in their own versions of the song.
She also posted another photo of them with a caption, "Sisters for Life! #touchedfortheveryfirsttime."
Other covers included in Sister Cristina's debut album include Jessie J's "Price Tag," Coldplay's "Fix You" and Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors," according to Idolator.
According to Sister Cristina, she chose "Live A Virgin" by Madonna herself with no intentions of provoking or causing a scandal.
What Sister Cristina wanted to do, according to her, was to transform a "pop dance track" into a "romantic ballad."
"It is a song about the ability of love to renew people, to redeem them from their past," the singing nun explained her "Like A Virgin" interpretation in an interview with the Catholic daily Avvenire.
Following her win in the Italian version of "The Voice" in June, singing nun Sister Cristina released her debut album featuring a remake of Madonna's 1984 hit song "Like A Virgin."
Like Madonna's version of the song, the music video of Sister Cristina's "Like A Virgin" was filmed in Venice featuring her in her trademark black habit, glasses and crucifix with a black and white backdrop of church spires and cupolas.

According to the Servizio Informazione Religiosa (Religious Information Service) news agency, the music video is a "reckless and calculated commercial operation," as cited by Telegraph.
"The public is always intrigued by the devil versus holy water theme, but not even the American nuns in Sister Act would have thought of something like this," claimed an editorial by the news agency, which is closely connected to the Italian Bishops' Conference.
Moreover, the editorial described the 26-year-old nun from Sicily as "blessedly naïve" for calling "Like A Virgin" a "secular prayer" and considered her decision to perform the song "contrived."
A Catholic magazine called Famiglia Cristiana (The Christian Family) also criticized Sister Cristina's remake of Madonna;s hit saying her performance for her debut album reflects a "prima donna behaviour."
