Samsung Galaxy S5 vs LG G3: Which Android Phablet Is Better?
The tech-market is now overflowing with new tech-advance and ultra fast devices that are from diverse companies. A market that once dominated by the two rivals, Apple and Samsung, is now full of more tech giants that are now participating in the tough tech gadget competition.
One of the emerging smartphone makers is the LG. After years of being known as the top appliance maker, the company has also explored the potential of making devices and surprisingly, their flagship smartphones got good rave reviews from the consumers and tech-geeks.
Though LG is not as great as Apple and Samsung yet, its smartphone's software and hardware are now comparable to the likes of both the two tech-giants.
Here is a brief comparison between the flagship handsets from the two Korea-based company, Samsung Galaxy S5 and LG G3 based:
First up are the categories where LG G3 is relatively superior compared to Galaxy S5. G3 has the bigger display screen compared to S5 at 5.5-inch IPS LCD screen versus 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display. LG's handset is also better in terms of its screen resolution, at 1440 x 2560 pixels with 538 ppi compared to Samsung's 1080 x 1920 resolution.
LG G3 is also powered with an updated Snapdragon 801 chipset MSM8975AC vs. Galaxy S5's Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC. The G3 has also bigger RAM at 3GB compared to S5's 2GB. In terms of camera, G3 has improved low-light laser-assisted auto focusing.
G3's battery, 3000 mAh, is relatively superior with 2800 mAh plus it also housed the wireless charging feature on its back cover which S5 has none. LG also house 1w amplified speaker that is louder and better than S5's speakers.
Meanwhile, Samsung will not be surrendering without giving a good fight. Though G3 has bigger display, S5 has superb contrast and sunlight legibility that is not present in LG's handset. S5 is also equipped with superior rear camera at 16MP compared to G3's 13MP snapper.
Samsung also triumphs against LG in terms of feel and look as S5 is more compact and lighter than G3 at 5.59 x 2.85 x 0.32 inches or 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm and weighs 5.11 oz. versus 5.76 x 2.94 x 0.35 inches or 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm. and weighs 5.26 oz. It also has additional features like Paypal certified fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor, and dust and water resistant.
On the other hand, both high-end phablets are equipped with quad-core Krait 400 clocked at 2500 MHz and Adreno 330 GPU. LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy S5 both have 32 GB expandable internal memory. The two handsets also house the same 2.1 selfie front camera.
Both Samsung Galaxy S5 and LG G3 are equipped with Android Kitkat 4.4.2 that will soon be available for Android Lollipop 5.0 update.
