Jeremy Lin Admits that He Listens to Hillsong Worship & Plans to Start a Prayer Group

Jeremy Lin, the 26-year-old Los Angeles Lakers guard, has always been very open about his faith in Jesus Christ. Recently he revealed what was on his playlist. Apparently on his playlist is Hillsong Worship's "Cornerstone," the album that features Australian worship leaders such as Darlene Zschech, Matt Crocker, Joel Houston and Reuben Morgan. When he was asked why he listens to Hillsong Worship, Lin says, "It reminds me that God is greater than the result of the games."
The NBA star also revealed that he would begin a prayer group that fans can be involved in. "The journey I've been on has had its ups and downs and I appreciate all of your support throughout. Some of you have asked how to pray for me so I decided to start a prayer group where I can send out requests for those that want to pray and support," Lin wrote on his website. "Please feel free to share with others you think would be interested. So much of what happens is out of our control, but prayer has been a place I have consistently found peace with God."
The Lakers guard went on to speak about his spiritual journey."From a spiritual standpoint, God has been teaching me and challenging me to rest in His love and grace everyday. I have always been a 'go-getter' type of guy who is focused on the next day, the next task or the next goal," Lin admitted. "God has been reminding me to stop and enjoy the relationship I have with Him daily. In doing so, I will live life with more peace, joy and purpose!"
According to Lin, God has put a specific Bible verse on his heart for this basketball season. "Also a verse that I think God has put on my heart for this season is Ephesians 3:20-Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than we all ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us," he wrote.
After receiving no athletic scholarship offers out of high school and being undrafted out of Harvard University, Lin reached a partially guaranteed contract deal in 2010 with his hometown Golden State Warriors. He seldom played in his rookie season and was assigned to the NBA Development League (D-League) three times. He was waived by the Warriors and the Rockets the following preseason before joining the New York Knicks early in the 2011-12 season. He continued to play sparingly and again spent time in the D-League. In February 2012, he led a winning streak by New York while being promoted to the starting lineup. In the summer of 2012, Lin signed a three-year contract with the Houston Rockets, for whom he played two seasons before the Lakers acquired him in a trade.
