“North Point Music: Beginnings” Looks to the Past and Present Jan. 20

North Point Music will release North Point Music: Beginnings, a two CD collection on Jan. 20, 2015. The set will feature 12 of their favorite worship numbers over the years and 9 re-recordings of their previously released songs. It includes the song "Shine Like Stars" which is the Be Rich, North Point Ministries' annual giving and serving campaign, theme song.
Produced by two-time GRAMMY Award-winning producer Nathan Nockels (Matt Redman, Laura Story, Passion) and Steve Fee, Beginnings comprises 21 total tracks. The compilation is North Point Music's first, designed to bring together fan favorites from both past and present.
In 2010, North Point Ministries launched North Point Music to bring local worship leaders, musicians and songwriters together to inspire a generation and influence the church. Led by best-selling author, communicator and pastor Andy Stanley, North Point Ministries comprises six Atlanta-area churches with more than 36,000 adults in attendance each Sunday. Outreach Magazine recently named North Point Ministries "the largest church in America." In addition, the church has strategic partnerships with more than 28 churches domestically and internationally, and the ministry receives in excess of 4.2 million requests for broadcast content, including television, each month.
Disc one, titled "Then," highlights music from previous North Point Music live releases, including North Point Live, North Point Live: Awake, North Point Live: Louder Than Creation, North Point InsideOut: No One Higher, and North Point Live: Here + Now. Among those 12 selections are songs by celebrated North Point songwriter/worship leaders Eddie Kirkland, Casey Darnell, Todd Fields and Seth Condrey.
The second disc, "Now," features nine re-recordings, some of established songs as well as new versions of more recent ones. Listeners will enjoy diverse worship anthems- from classic hymns like "It Is Well" to contemporary melodies "God of the Impossible" and "Shine Like Stars." On this CD are contributions by Paul Taylor Smith, acoustic soul singer Chinua Hawk and Centricity Music newcomer Lauren Daigle.
