Red Roots Update Us on Their New Video and New Album Progress in This Exclusive Interview
They are young. They are triplets. And they sing with an undeniable passion for Jesus Christ. In a world that lacks young Godly models that are not afraid to sing about Jesus, Red Roots is indeed a treasure. They have just released their brand new Daywind Records album "Triplicity" --- a collection bristling with smashing new country-pop songs that exalts Jesus and reaches out to the world with His love. We are so privileged to be able to chat with them for this exclusive interview.
Hallels: Congratulations on the release of your second video from your most recent album "Triplicity" entitled "Great Big Yes." Why did you choose this song as a single? And for some of our readers who have not heard it yet, what's the song about?
We chose this song because it answers the biggest question we all ask ourselves at some point in our lives. "Does anyone really care about my life", "Does anyone love me", "Can anyone fix this mess". Everyone needs to know that the answer is a Great BIg YES!! God has got a purpose for each of our lives and is ready to use us for His work when we come to a point to where we know we really need Him.
Hallels: Tell us about the making of the video.
We planned this video for many months. Micah Schweinsberg directed and filmed the video. We just wanted it to be real and show as close to possible what it is really like when someone hits rock bottom. We had 4 locations for the shoot. We go into huge depth on the whole video making process here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Nm7QbNyOLE
Hallels: It's been over a year since the release of "Triplicity." In hindsight, were you pleased with the way the album turned out? Were there any regrets?
We really appreciate how our base really stuck with us through the progression of the style of music and hope they continue to do so in the future.
Hallels: How did you feel when the album received a Dove nomination?
We thought it was a misprint at first. We were really surprised and still are!! Thanks!!
Hallels: Are you writing or working on the follow-up album? When do you anticipate its release? Will it be released with Daywind Records too?
We are writing for a new album. We have more songs written than we've ever had at this point before we record. We're not positive on who we are working on it with yet but we are so looking forward to getting it going!!
Hallels: Will the new album be in the same musical direction? Who are some of the people you anticipate to work with?
Since the music industry is always changing, we want each album to change. Our taste in music is always changing and we hope to reflect that. There's a lot of great people out there, we're not sure who it's supposed to be yet.
Hallels: Anything else you would like to tell our readers?
God can use you and has a purpose for your life. You are loved by the most relevant Being who ever existed!!! :)
