Loretta Lynn’s Grandson Jeffrey Allen Lynn Dies

Country music veteran Loretta Lynn's oldest grandson has just died suddenly. Jeffrey Allen Lynn, age 47, died unexpectedly on Monday (June 6). He is the oldest son of Loretta Lynn's second child, Jack Benny Lynn. He lived and worked on his grandmother's ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., and is survived by three children: Jory, Katie and Cody. He was one of the country icon's more than 20 grandchildren.
Jeffrey Allen Lynn's father was one of six children born to Loretta Lynn and her husband, Oliver Vanetta Lynn, also known as "Doolittle," "Doo" and "Mooney." Tragically, he drowned on July 22, 1984, while attempting to cross the Duck River, which runs through the Lynn family's property; he was 34 at the time.
Loretta Lynn was scheduled to perform on Friday (June 10) and Saturday (June 11), in Miami, Okla., and Hinton, Okla., respectively, but she has elected to postpone those shows so that she can be with her family during this difficult time. The Miami concert is now scheduled for July 8, while the Hinton date will take place on Nov. 12.
Recently, Lynn released a new Gospel album Hymns and Gospel Favorites under the Gaither Music imprint. The timeless collection captures the honest, colorful strains that have made Loretta Lynn a household name, trendsetter and recording icon. These treasured songs of faith highlight her unmistakable, heartwarming voice that has been bringing audiences to their feet for decades. Also, earlier this year, Lynn released what is her final country album Full Circle.
