Watch Reba McEntire Nail the National Anthem at the City of Hope Fundraiser
On June 10, country music icon Reba McEntire stood at the center of Nashville's First Tennessee Park and sang the National Anthem, "Star Spangled Banner." The annual softball game is held during CMA Music Fest in the heart of Nashville and this year, fellow country singer Sara Evans followed up Reba's impressive performance with a singalong to "Take Me Out To The Ballgame".
This year's celebrity players included Billy Ray Cyrus; Craig Morgan; Kellie Pickler; Jessie James Decker and her husband, NFL player Eric Decker; Lauren Alaina; Todd Chrisley, Savannah and Grayson Chrisley of USA's "Chrisley Knows Best"; Drew Scott and Jonathan Scott of HGTV's "Property Brothers"; the Swon Brothers; Danielle Bradbery; Aaron Watson; Jackie Lee; Trent Harmon; Maggie Rose; Miss Tennessee, Allee-Sutton Hethcoat and Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth of ABC's "The Bachelorette."
The event is a fundraiser for City of Hope, an independent research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases.
Recently, Reba McEntire released a new gospel album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope. The double-album features 10 classic hymns and 10 brand-new songs. "One album has 10 hymns on it, songs that I grew up singing all my life," said Reba via Facebook. "And the other one are 10 brand-new songs. It's a joint partnership with Nash Icon and Capitol Christian. I was thrilled to death to get to do a gospel album, I've been wanting to do one forever."
In addition to classic hymns like "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art," Sing It Now will feature "Oh, How I Love Jesus,"
