Lauren Daigle Leads Dove Nominations

Centricity Music artist Lauren Daigle was honored with five Gospel Music Association Dove Award nods last week, taking the lead in artist nominations alongside Zach Williams. Daigle is up for Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year ("Come Alive"), Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year ("Come Alive"), Christmas/Special Event Album of the Year (Behold), and Rock/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year for "Hard Love," her collaboration with NEEDTOBREATHE.
"These nominations have taken me by surprise," Daigle said upon hearing the news. "I am humbled and honored to be considered among so many talented artists and reputable bodies of work!"
As the reigning Artist of the Year, Daigle has an impressive history with the GMA's annual awards. These 2017 nominations are part of the now 14 she's received in the past three years. Six of those resulted in wins for Daigle, including New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year ("How Can It Be") in 2015 and Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year ("Trust In You") in 2016.
"I'm grateful for another year," Daigle added. "I look forward to a fun night as the industry bands together to celebrate. Thank you to the GMA and to everyone involved for this opportunity!"
Over 1,500 professional members of the Christian music industry determine the Dove nominees, who are then voted on by the entire GMA membership of nearly 2,500. The awards ceremony will take place in Nashville on Tuesday, October 17. Trinity Broadcasting Network will air the show the following Sunday, October 22 at 8 p.m. CT.
The Dove nominations follow much recognition for Daigle among other award ceremonies this year. In addition to her second Grammy nomination, she took home trophies for two Billboard Music Awards (Top Christian Artist, Top Christian Album) and a K-Love Fan Award (Female Artist of the Year). This has been in the midst of performances at events such as the ACM Awards, the spring Outcry tour, and the recent Hillsong conference in Australia.
Daigle is currently preparing for the summer Outcry tour, which kicks off this weekend and runs throughout August. She is about to release her next single, "O'Lord," which has already been listed on Spotify's Top Christian Tracks playlist and received early radio adds.
