George Strait Farewell Concert a Dallas Stadium, Watch Final Performance (VIDEO)
Country legend George Strait gave his longtime fans at strong send off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (where the Dallas Cowboys play) on Saturday night. Above you can watch the video of Strait playing his final song "The Cowboy Rides Away", clearly fitting for this night along with an all-star version of the track from 'Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind.'
Strait played for nearly 105,000 fans shattering the previous record for a single artist concert attendance set by The Rolling Stones at The Louisiana Superdome in 1981.
The night included guests such as Alan Jackson, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert and more. All of Strait's guest stars returned to the stage for an encore and hopefully were able to soak in the special moment they were all on stage to witness as they look out at the sea of fans.
Strait's band has been with him nearly 40 years on the road, starting in 1975 with the Ace in the Hole Band. Many of the 11-piece band's original members played back up Saturday, "the best band anybody could have out here on the road," Strait said.
Strait may be off the road, but he will still be making music as he has renewed his deal with MCA Records last year to produce five more albums.
Strait's, The Cowboy Rides Away, began in 2013. Each of the 45 stadiums and arenas he's played in 31 states has sold out. He's performed for an estimated 1 million fans.
George Strait for his classic honky-tonk style and Texas cowboy charm, one of the last of his generation still performing.
