Rick Rubin Working on New Kanye West Album

Rick Rubin Working on New Kanye West Album
Legendary producer Rick Rubin revealed that he has been working on music with Kanye West for his new album. He spoke with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe and shared the process he has been doing through recently with West as they work on the new tracks.
Rubin shares, "There were loads of great ideas and there were many many tracks and we listened to everything together," said Rubin on his first listen of the 'Yeezus' demos. "He originally came over and said 'I wanna come play you my new album' and I thought we'd be listening to a finished album. Then we listened to about three hours of music, most of which didn't have vocals, and at the end I was like 'wow, so what's it gonna be?' I'm thinking it's a year away and he was like 'well, I'm putting it out in like 5-6 weeks. It was just a funny conversation because it was completely normal to him, it's just the way he works... today, Kanye West is coming in and we're starting looking at vocal ideas for things for the next album."
West has also been working with Q-Tip on the new album as well along with Rubin. Rick Rubin's full interview will be available on the BBC iPlayer from 7pm on Monday, June 16 and broadcast in four parts (Monday-Thursday) on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show.
Rubin helped produce Kanye's 2013 album 'Yeezus' and it appears that had a good enough working relationship to dig into a new set of tracks together. No release dates have been set for West's new album, but he likes to keep things pretty mysterious until the last minute to build hype.
