Apple iOS 7.1.2 Update Review and Bug Fixes for iPhone, iPad & iPod Devices

Apple iOS 7.1.2 Update Review and Bug Fixes
Apple just released their latest operating system update iOS 7.1.2 to iPhone and iPad users and as usual there are some bugs to get fixed as they go along. However, the beta testing periods were much shorter and bug fixes and security updates are already coming much quicker which is great news. Apple iOS 7.1.2 is compatible with the iPhone 5S, 5C, 4S, 4, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPad, iPad 2 and iPod Touch.
Recent iOS 7 and OS X 10.9 Mavericks updates have undergone long and extensive beta testing periods. Not this time around as both iOS 7.1.2 and OS X 10.9.4 updates are now available and the fixes and security patches are worth updating.
Apple iOS users can install the update by connecting their device to their computer and updating through iTunes or using the Over-The-Air, or OTA, software update method located in the Settings > General > Software Update menu.
The latest iOS 7.1.2 update includes:
- Improves iBeacon connectivity and stability
- Fixes a bug with data transfer for some 3rd party accessories, including bar code scanners
- Corrects an issue with data protection class of Mail attachments
- And, of course, there is security content

The latest OS X 10.9.4 update includes:
- Fix for WiFi connectivity issues
- Wake-from-sleep issue affecting (mostly) MacBooks
- Safari 7.0.5, which is mostly about security
- Via: Fairer Platform
This iOS 7 update is a must have for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Mac computer users running OS X Mavericks also should install and download the OS X 10.9.4 upate.
You might not notice any substancial changes, but there are critical security patches baked into both iOS 7.1.2 and OS X 10.9.4 which will help your device run smoother. iOS 7.1.2 patches a bug that caused certain data transfer issues with third-party accessories and fixes a Mail bug where e-mail attachments wouldn't be properly encrypted.
Another update with the iOS 7.1.2 addresses a bug that would allow an attacker to gain access to a phone's full list of contacts through Siri, if they possessed physical access to the phone. Apple addressed this issue by adding a passcode check in order to open a full contact list through the Siri voice assistant.
