Hillsong's Brooke Ligertwood's Worship Leading Advice: Leading from Trust

Hillsong's worship director Brooke Ligertwood has been leading worship at the Australian megachurch and its various campuses for decades. She has penned worship staples such as 'Hosanna', 'Desert Song' and 'Man of Sorrows' as well as devotional favourites 'None But Jesus', 'Lead Me to the Cross', 'Transfiguration' and the #1 song 'What a Beautiful Name'. This is what Ligertwood has to say about leading worship:
"I can lead in our Hillsong Church and conferences now in a way I couldn't have/wouldn't have 15 years ago because that trust and rapport with our leadership and our congregation has been built over 15 years.
At every stage in this journey of serving I have led to the level at which I am trusted.
Doing this has, in turn, built trust. As the boundary of trust grows larger, I can then lead to that new, extended boundary - all the while respecting it, valuing it, keeping it safe.
You don't build trust by pushing and stretching it, but by valuing and keeping it.
Don't lead beyond your trust level. Lead to the level at which you're trusted and do so BOLDLY. If you're not sure, ask (your leadership). And then go for it!"
Ligertwood and Hillsong Worship are gearing up for the release of "Awake," their first studio album in almost two decades. Dropping worldwide on Oct. 11, the compilation is available for preorder today and includes an exclusive track offer for "No One But You."
Featuring the vocals of Ligertwood, Joel Houston, Taya, and Aodhan King, "Awake" is comprised of 12 newly penned tracks. It includes three bonus live/digital versions of "See the Light," "No One But You," and the group's first single "King of Kings," which continues to climb the charts with 4 million plus global audio streams and over 2 million YouTube views (live performance video).
