Faithlife Proclaim, a church presentation software from Faithlife, makers of Logos Bible Software, has released a recap of the most popular Christian music worship songs and artists throughout the past five years in addition to 2020's up-and-coming songs. Accumulated from a sampling of 10,000 Faithlife Proclaim church users, the new data represents churches of different denominations and sizes from across the country.

More than half of the top 10 were songs written before 2019, including "10,000 Reasons" (released in 2011), "This is Amazing Grace" (2013), "Great Are You Lord" (2009), "How Great is Our God" (2004) and "Good, Good Father" (2015). The oldest song on the list is "In Christ Alone" written by Stuart Townend and Brian Getty in 2002. It has been covered by several different artists, including the popular worship group Passion in 2013, a rendition that reached No. 23 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs Chart in June of 2014.
In looking at data over the past semi-decade, these selections continually ranked in the top 10 numerous times. Songs such as "10,000 Reasons," which was the most popular song of 2015 and 2017, has remained in the top four songs in the last five years. "What A Beautiful Name" released by Hillsong Worship in 2016 claimed fourth in 2017 and first in 2018, while "Good, Good Father," which was released in 2015, rose to peak popularity in 2016 and has since moved to eighth place in 2019.
Of the 21 total songs that appeared in the top 10 lists throughout the past five years, several popular worship artists continually made the list, including Hillsong Worship, Chris Tomlin, Passion, Matt Redman and Phil Whickham. But, in reviewing data from the beginning of 2020, Faithlife predicts new favorite artists and songs could show up in next year's top 10, including: "Waymaker" by Sinach, "His Mercy Is More" by Matt Papa, "Yes I Will" by Vertical Worship, and "Nothing Else" by Cody Carnes.
"While Faithlife Proclaim's assets are vast, one of its most fascinating features to me is how it tracks this data of worship music in real-time," said Faithlife CEO and Founder Bob Pritchett. "It's enriching to be able to witness similarities and differences in worship preferences between all types of churches, as it serves a reminder that no matter which songs or artists we prefer to sing, we are all one in Christ Jesus."
