Tomorrowland Reveals: Plot Synopsis May Finally be Hinted by Film Director Brad Bird
There has been a lot of speculation over the Disney Film Tomorrowland which is set to have a release date just before Christmas and there are a few things that have come to light. Brad Bird is at the helm this time as the director while the script was done by Damon Lindelof. The context is one word: epic. The filming of the movie was done in 9 places amazingly including Valencia (Spain), Canada, and Florida. Apparently there has been a lot of mystery about the film thanks to the director and writer of the script. For one, the film was originally called 1952, and Brad Bird was reportedly seen holding a briefcase with the same title but which held copy of Amazing Stories, photographs of Walt Disney as well as an old 1945 record.
Plot: Tomorrowland is about an alternate universe where science has blown the past which we live in, and enters the main character Frank Walker, at 11 years. He sees the potential of Tomorrowland at the 1964 world fair. David Nix, played by Hugh Laurie, is also present and meets the young Frank but tells him to come back when he is older and when his work actually made a difference. Athena is a girl that spots Frank and sees his potential and sneaks him back into Tomorowland. Eventually Nix finds him again and throws him out. However, this is not before he discovers that Athena who he has come to love is actually a robot.
When we are next introduced to Frank he is older and George Clooney has been cast the role. We return to Tomorrowland where Nix is the mayor and it is revealed that when Nix throws Frank out he was not alone. He threw out every creative mind so that he could clearly focus on the aesthetics and tunnel minded progress of things within his universe. This makes for a corrupt, cold and dictatorial leader. There is a new hero as the story unfolds called Casey as her scientific mind proves quite helpful while Athena, who remained unchanged through the years also, features as a vital character in the future. The film shows the complex and darker aspects of Disney films and should be something to anticipate.
