"Batman: Arkham Knight" Video Game Release Date Pushed Back to 2015, Following Producers' Revelation About New Characters and a New Villain in Collaboration With DC Comics and Rocksteady Studios
"Batman: Arkham Knight" is the newest generation in the Batman video game series. Although the game was originally scheduled for release sometime this year, it has officially been pushed back to debut sometime in 2015.
"Game Informer" magazine reported that the creators of the game have revealed several new characters who have been added to the game after a collaboration with DC Comics and Rocksteady Studios. These characters are aimed to appeal to a wider audience of fans and to make the game more interesting for those gamers who feel as though they've seen it all before.
Although not much information has been released regarding these new characters, it is fair to assume that there may be the appearance of a new protagonist or antagonist (or both) who serves to challenge Batman in a fresh, new way. Rumor has it that game developers are also working on a new villain, one who is really capable of rising to meet Batman on equal footing.
"Batman: Arkham Knight" producer Dax Ginn stated,""It came from thinking about the way that we built interactions and engagements between Batman and the other members of the rouges gallery. They all reflect some aspect of his personality. Each of the super-villains connects with Batman in a very specific way and he is a collection of all of those things, but we never really had a villain who can engage with Batman of a physical, powerful, combat level."
Rocksteady Studios co-founder Sefton Hill also commented on this mysterious new foe, saying, We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways. We're not talking about those ways just yet but this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman."
