Australia Singer and Songwriter Tenielle Neda Debuts "The Lord Is My Shepherd"

Singer/songwriter Tenielle Neda from remote Western Australia shares a new song from her full-length debut album. Today, her song, "The Lord Is My Shepherd," is released as listeners can also pre-add/pre-save her debut album, The Way Of Love. Listen to "The Lord Is My Shepherd" or watch the music video below.
As a mother of three, each of the songs on the forthcoming album were written in the everyday moments of life and motherhood. "The Lord is My Shepherd" was composed and sung into her phone while feeding her daughter in the highchair after months of sleep deprivation. As she read Psalm 23, an idea sparked, and both the melody and lyrics flowed almost entirely a cappella into her voice memos. The track was recorded in a single live take in her children's room, which, just days before they moved towns, was cluttered with boxes. She then sent the recording to Jon Guerra, who added intricate layers and elements that beautifully invite the listener into the song.
"The song came as a prayer from the overflow of my heart - a heart longing for and reveling in the tender fatherly, love and goodness of God. In spite of feeling as though I had nothing to give - precisely because I had nothing left to give, his loving care was so sweet, pertinent, and real to me," shares Tenielle Neda.
With this song and throughout the whole debut, the common thread is the never-failing, deep, constant love of God through Christ Jesus.
She adds, "If I were to identify a central theme or unifying thread throughout the album, it would be the profound love of God. I pray these songs inspire listeners to direct their hearts, minds, and affections toward God's love for us through Christ Jesus our Lord. I hope they enable others to truly comprehend and experience that love and that it would serve as the wellspring from which we draw, empowering us to love those around us more deeply."
The album is produced by Jon Guerra and features tracks with Guerra, Brisbane-based artists Rothbury and Eliza King, and fellow "Porters Gate" collaborator Nick Chambers. Her vocals were recorded in her spare room, which is usually full of piles of washing. To launch the album, Neda will play two shows in her home city of Perth with John Van Deusen in July, before heading to the United States in late August, with shows to be announced.
