Franklin Graham's "Easter from the Ashes" Features Charity Gayle and Michael W. Smith

This Easter, Franklin Graham delivered a poignant message titled "Easter from the Ashes", filmed amidst the devastation of the California wildfires. Standing among the ruins, he posed the question: "Can there be hope in the place of ashes?" His answer centered on the redemptive power of the Gospel, emphasizing that through Jesus Christ, there is hope and new life even in the darkest circumstances.
In the Easter from the Ashes special, Charity Gayle and Michael W. Smith collaborated for the first time to deliver a powerful musical segment. The two singers performed "I Speak Jesus," one of Charity Gayle's most impactful worship songs .
The program was filmed at Pepperdine University's chapel, surrounded by the remains of the California wildfires in the Palisades. This setting provided a poignant backdrop for their worship, emphasizing themes of hope and renewal.
Graham reminded viewers that no matter how broken or burned life may seem, there is forgiveness, renewal, and eternal life through Jesus' death and resurrection. He connected the physical devastation of the fires with the emotional and spiritual pain many people carry - and offered the cross as the ultimate source of healing and hope.
"Maybe your life feels like ashes right now - burned by regret, loss, or pain. I want you to know this: because Jesus is alive, there is hope. He can take what's been destroyed and bring new life."
