American Idol's Breanna Nix’s Debut Single “Higher” Soars to No. 1

Rising country and Christian artist Breanna Nix is making waves with her debut single, "Higher," which soared to No. 1 on the iTunes Country Songs chart just days after the American Idol Season 23 finale. The emotionally charged anthem also reached No. 2 on the iTunes all-genre chart, marking an explosive start to Nix's post-Idol career.
A fan favorite and third-place finalist on the 2025 season of American Idol, Nix captivated audiences with her powerhouse vocals and faith-filled performances. Her rendition of "Higher," originally by Toby Lightman, resonated deeply with fans and showcased the heartfelt artistry that defined her journey on the show.
"Seeing 'Higher' connect with so many people is more than I could've imagined," said Nix. "This song is about rising above fear and trusting in something greater - themes that have carried me through this incredible experience."
Released on May 19, "Higher" quickly shot to the top of the charts, reflecting the growing support for Nix's inspiring musical message. As of May 25, the single continues to perform strongly, sitting at No. 16 on the iTunes US Country Songs chart.
Nix is scheduled to make her Grand Ole Opry debut on June 5, fulfilling what she calls a "bucket list dream." She will also appear at CMA Fest in Nashville on June 4 as part of 19 Recordings' showcase featuring fellow American Idol alumni.
With her blend of country soul and spiritual conviction, Breanna Nix is poised to become a powerful new voice in the world of inspirational music.
