(God In Real Life)" is the fifth and final selection to bow ahead of the act's fourth studio set, Roses, blooming July 11, 2025. Fans can pre-add, pre-save and pre-order the record HERE.
Written by Stars Go Dim frontman Chris Cleveland, Colby Wedgeworth and Michael Farren, the latest advance offering poses the pivotal question: Where is God in real life? While he doesn't pretend to always know the answer, Cleveland concedes evidence of God can always be uncovered. The standout track resolves in a fit of frenzied sonic elements, mirroring the madness of real life, as his unparalleled falsetto takes center stage in an ambitious vocal take that's other-worldly.
"'G.I.R.L. (God In Real Life)' is a really special song on this album because it's what this whole album is about. It's about finding how God works in our real lives - when life is beautiful and joyful and amazing, and when life is hard and dark and hurtful. How does God show up? Does this faith even work? 'God In Real Life' is the song, I think, that speaks straight to that," Cleveland shares. "One of the things I love about this song is that we take it from this really poppy, happy place to the edge of chaos at the back end of it - because that's what life is. Sometimes it's beautiful and peaceful, and sometimes, it feels like it's about to fall apart. That's what 'God In Real Life' sounds like."
Co-producing for the first time, Cleveland embraces the genuine joy that comes from a slower pace and a different point of view on Roses. Exploring his dynamic range across the project's 11 original tracks, the top-shelf singer chases a retro sound marinated in the groove-heavy beats of the '70s. From the jangly piano intro of infectious opener "Mama Don't Lie (Alright)" to the nostalgic emotional pull of closer "Good Days," the fresh LP blossoms with the hope that God is always waiting to be found.
Just a few days after its release, Cleveland will celebrate his forthcoming collection by stepping into the coveted circle for his Grand Ole Opry debut on July 13, 2025.
