Dolly Parton Truly Believes She'll See Her Late Husband Again

Dolly Parton is leaning on her faith as she continues to mourn the death of her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean. In a new interview with The Independent, she says she's certain that they'll be reunited in Heaven one day, and it's a thought that brings her comfort.
"I am a person of faith, and I truly believe that I'm going to see him again someday. And I see him every day in my memories and in my heart, and in all the things that we used to do and all the things that we've built together," said Parton. "You just kind of have to learn to kind of make new plans - but that's the hardest part."
Carl Dean passed away on March 3, 2025, at the age of 82, after a prolonged illness. The couple had been married for nearly 60 years, having tied the knot in 1966. Despite Dean's preference for a private life away from the spotlight, their bond remained strong throughout the decades. Parton has described the adjustment to life without him as challenging, stating, "It's a big adjustment just trying to change patterns and habits."
To honor Dean's memory, Parton released a tribute song titled "If You Hadn't Been There" on March 6, 2025. The song reflects on the profound impact Dean had on her life and career, expressing gratitude for his unwavering support and love throughout their marriage.
In addition to her musical tribute, Parton continues to channel her grief into her work. She is preparing for the debut of an autobiographical musical in Nashville in July 2025, which will move to Broadway in 2026. Furthermore, she plans to release a new book, "Star of the Show: My Life on Stage," on November 11, 2025.
Despite the pain of her loss, Parton's enduring faith and dedication to her craft serve as testaments to her resilience and the lasting love she shared with Carl Dean.
