K-LOVE Removes Music by Newsboys and DC Talk Following Allegations Against Michael Tait

In light of recent and serious allegations of sexual misconduct and substance abuse involving Michael Tait, former lead singer of Newsboys and DC Talk, K-LOVE has made the decision to remove music featuring Tait from its on-air rotation and digital platforms.
The decision follows a report published by The Roys Report detailing allegations from multiple individuals accusing Tait of engaging in grooming, non-consensual sexual activity, and providing drugs and alcohol to young men between 2004 and 2014. These accusations were further acknowledged by Tait himself in a public statement on June 10, where he admitted the claims were "largely true" and announced his intention to step away from public life to seek help.
"Our mission at K-LOVE has always been to uplift and encourage our listeners while upholding the highest standards of integrity," said David Pierce, Chief of Ministry Partnerships at K-LOVE. "After careful consideration and in solidarity with those who have come forward, we are taking immediate steps to remove any music associated with Michael Tait from our programming."
The current members of Newsboys have also issued a statement expressing heartbreak and support for the alleged victims. They confirmed that while Tait had previously admitted to struggles, they were not aware of the full extent of his actions until the recent revelations.
K-LOVE remains committed to creating a safe and respectful space for all listeners and will continue to monitor the situation closely. Our prayers are with those affected, and we encourage anyone in need of support to seek guidance from trusted spiritual leaders and mental health professionals.
