Franni Cash Writes and Performs Original Song for Upcoming Film "Hazel"

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Franni Cash (formerly of We The Kingdom) continues to expand her creative horizons with the announcement of an original song for the upcoming survival thriller Hazel. Cash not only co-stars in the film but also contributes its featured song, "Next To You," marking a significant milestone in her journey as both a musician and actress.
Hazel is inspired by the true story of Hazel Miner, a teenager from North Dakota who, during a devastating 1920s blizzard, fought to protect her two younger siblings through the night. The gripping drama highlights courage, faith, and sacrifice, themes that resonate deeply in Cash's heartfelt new song.
"Getting to be part of Hazel has been a lifelong dream fulfilled," said Cash. "I've always wanted to act and to write music for film, and this project has allowed me to do both. 'Next To You' is about love, sacrifice, and the hope that carries us through the darkest nights-just like Hazel's story."
The official music video for "Next To You" is now available on YouTube, and the film will premiere in North Dakota on September 26-27, 2025, with additional release details to follow.
Cash first rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the Grammy-nominated, Dove Award-winning Christian band We The Kingdom, known for hits such as "Holy Water" and "God So Loved." In 2024, she stepped away from the group to pursue a solo career, focusing on music, acting, and creative storytelling.
Since launching her solo journey, Cash has embraced new artistic opportunities, from starring in the stage-to-screen musical Carol to crafting songs that weave together themes of faith, family, and resilience. Her latest project, Hazel, represents a defining moment as she unites her passion for music and film.
