Boardwalk Empire Season 5 Premiere, Cast, Trailer News, Spoilers, Episodes, And Filming: Could This Be The Last Season We Will Be Seeing Of Boardwalk Empire
We have the latest for you on the premiere, cast, trailer news, spoilers, episodes and filming of Boardwalk Empire Season 5. There is some good news for the 'Boardwalk Empire'. The season 5 of the series is scheduled to be released this coming September. After its best season, HBO and series creator, Terrence Winter have decided that the series will reach its conclusion in the 5th season. Although it was unexpected that the Boardwalk Empire will end in the 5th season, it is already confirmed by the producers and by HBO too.
The president of programming at HBO, Michael Lombardo, said, "It has been an incredible honor to bring this powerful and groundbreaking series to our subscribers. Terry Winter has created one of the ages."
Although no reason has been given as to why the series will end in the 5th season, experts speculate that it could not be due to the low ratings, as the show did quite well in season 4. Although major awards eluded the series during its run, Bobby Cannavale won the Best Supporting Actor Emmy award for his portrayal of Gyp Rosetti in the 3rd season. Another speculated reason why Winter and HBO came to a decision to close the show is because they are supposedly set to work on another period. There is no official announcement yet about their reasons to terminate the show but Screenrrant reported that the show will be a rock and roll of series. Winter, supposedly will be collaborating with Martin Scorsese and it is rumored that the show will be produced by Mick Jagger. It is reported that Cannavale is attached to the show as he is considered to play the lead role.
Back to Boardwalk Empire; it is said that the 5th season of the series will have 8 episodes. It is expected to have an unforgiving end for the characters that stand to pay a price for their bad actions. The trailer for season 5 is already online giving the fans a short insight of what to expect in the upcoming season. The Boardwalk Empire is expected to premiere on September 7th on HBO. After season 4 of the series ended in a pile of dead bodies, the shortened 8-episode final season is expected to pick up during depths of the Great Depression. Also follow Nucky as he remembers his Atlantic City roots and plots for a post-prohibition future.
