Pitch Perfect 2 Release Date, Reveals and Review: First Round Success inspires Second installment, so More Drama, Humor and Romance for Sequel
Ever since the credits rolled on Pitch Perfect one, fans have been hoping and praying and waiting for a sequel. In April 2013 the wishes of the fans came true when Pitch Perfect 2 was announced. A release date has finally been announced for May 15th 2015. With all kinds of speculation and expectations there are rumors flying as to what is expected, who will stay on and who will be leaving the able cast.
The first installment made Gold Circle Films and Universal Pictures 113 million dollars worldwide. The 2012 movie won a host of accolades including Best Breakthrough Performance for Rebel Wilson and Best Musical movement at the MTV Movie Awards, Choice Breakout Performance for Adam DeVine at the Teen Choice Awards and the top soundtrack at the American Music Awards. With success like this it would definitely be a bad idea not to bring the cast back for a second stab at it.
The accapella theme shall definitely stay central allowing the actors to really show out with their amazing vocals. The word is out that there shall definitely be more dancing this time in addition to the singing. From interviews with Belfast Telegraph Skylar Astin and Anna Camp gave enough to keep fans going till 2015. The couple let it slip that they shall not be in any scenes together in the sequel which they do not, in fact mind. On the other hand cast member Anna Kendrick told People magazine that she performs a spectacular stunt in the sequel but remains tight lipped as to the nature of the stunt.
The cast had nothing but good things to say about director Elizabeth Banks saying that she was fun to work with. Elizabeth gave off that all she could disclose was this time the girls would be graduating seniors. We however should expect sing offs, drama, humor and more love interests this time around. Let's hope that the excitement the cast felt at the wrap pillow fight shall be translated onto the screen in a fun spring movie.
