'Nashville' Season 3 ABC Premieres September 2014, Cast Updates, Alexa PenaVega Joins Show for 3 Episodes
"Nashville" Season 3 continues to add new cast, cameos and guest spots ahead of the premiere on ABC on September 24th on it's usual Wednesday night at 10/9c.
"Nashville" has announced that actress Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids) will be joining the show for three episodes in Season 3. The 25-year-old will play Kiley, Gunnar's (Sam Palladio) first love and high school sweetheart. She's now a single mother who's recently arrived in Nashville with the intention of providing some stability for her 10-year-old son that she had at a very young age.
The latest cameo revealed as country star Luke Bryan, who was joined by Connie Britton, who plays Rayna James, in New York City on Friday (August 8th) to film his scene. Luke Bryan's cameo will air on the second episode of "Nashville" Season 3 airing on October 1st.
"Hope y'all had fun watching this morning. #LukeBryanOnGMA," Luke tweeted after shooting his cameo in NYC.
Cast star Hayden Panettiere, who plays pop/country star Juliette Barnes, is pregnant in real life and fans are wondering if they will write it into the script or try to hide it in Season 3. She spoke with TVLine about different scenerios for Season 3. She would love to see Juliette and Deacon (Chip Esten) together again. "We were together so much the first year, and when you get to know somebody that well as an actor, it allows you to really delve into things in a way that is very free and real and raw," Panettiere said.
Juliette was at another all-time low and drowning herself in alcohol instead of facing her problems again like in Season 1. Deacon, who is in recovery from his own alcoholism, could be the person to help her get her life back on track. Deacon could also help Juliette deal with the fallout from her breakup with Avery (Jonathan Jackson) and her one-night stand with Jeff Fordham (Oliver Hudson).
Panettiere doesn't think the aftereffects of Juliette's one night stand with Jeff are over. "That was a pretty big mistake for Juliette to make with a pretty dangerously disliked character," Panettiere told TVLine. "I would be surprised if [the writers] just let that go or resolved it very quickly."
Deacon and Maddie have really started to bond as father and daughter, but is this a happy ending or will things fall off track? This might have some to do with whether or not Rayna chooses Luke Wheeler (Will Chase) or Deacon in the end. I think most people expect Rayna and Deacon to end up together in the end, but the writers might have different ideas.
Tune into "Nashville" Season 3 premiere on ABC on September 24th, Wednesday night at 10/9c to catch all of the new drama.
