Kingdom Hearts 3 Release Date, Reveals and Rumors: Games Co-Director, Tai Yasue says they are Working on KH 2.5 and KH 3 Concurrently
It has been about Nine years since the release of the previous installment of Kingdom Hearts which was 2 for Playstation 2 platform. The fans have eagerly been waiting for the sequel. Square Enix which is also responsible for the Final Fantasy franchise stated they will be releasing Kingdom Hearts 2.5 remix in December, with Kingdom hearts 3 on the way. As such, there is no other confirmed news about the release date of Kingdom Hearts 3. However, according to the games co-director, Tai Yasue, they are currently working on Kingdom Hearts 2.5 and 3 at the same time. Since the 2.5 installment should naturally come out first it would seem that it is impeding the progress of Kingdom Hearts 3 but Yasue was quick to say that everything is going on schedule.
The fans were anticipating a trailer of Kingdom Hearts 3 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo that was had a few months ago, but there was mass disappointment as the developers did not reveal anything. Yasue stated it was strategic in that the developers wanted to get KH 2.5 out so that the players get a better understanding of the story before KH 3 even came out.
After all, the original game came out around 12 years ago. In order to understand Kingdom hearts 3, there are many connections between the games which need to be explored by the players themselves. Yasue also stated that teasers and trailers required a lot of work and time, which they did not have in the first place. They are working on two games from the same franchise, at the same time, so they need to focus on development. The story of Kingdom Hearts concentrates on Sora and his quest to find his friends. There are times the role interacts with characters of other games like Final Fantasy and World ends with you.'
