Constantine Release Date, Reveals, Spoilers and Rumors: Matt Ryan and Angelica Celaya to Star in Upcoming Series
DC comics hasn't been extremely keen n producing T.V series, or anything much for that matter of late but come October 24th 2014 all that will change. Thanks to Warner Brothers the series Constantine shall be coming to NBC. If you remember there was a movie by the same name in 2005 however the movie strayed quite a bit from the comic book plot an error that the series seeks to rectify. The series is based on the comic book Hellblazer which published its final issue in early 2013.
The series is about John Constantine, a dark magician who fights to save the world from impending doom. The series is seriously dark as it focuses on supernatural; Constantine is also fighting his own demons and shall be joined by a female co-star (as if there is another kind of co-star) who also sees supernatural beings that walk among us. At the 2014 San Diego comic-con the show released a trailer that was the talk of the town and is available online. The series is a big hit with fans of the comic book but according to producer David Goyer even people who have never even heard of the comic shall be able to follow the series.
David Goyer known for movies like The Dark Knight, Batman Begins and Jumper is the executive producer of the series and also wrote the first episode in the series. All things DC are close to his heart so we really expect him to show out with this series. He will be working with David Cerone a relatively new and unknown writer who has done some work on the hit series Dexter. Superstar Keanu Reaves shall not be reprising his role as the chain smoking antihero; Matt Ryan shall be picking up the role and shall be joined by Angelica Celaya known for her work in Cowboys and Vampires. Harold Perrineau shall not be searching relentlessly and hopelessly for his son in this series like he did in Lost but he is on the cast list as well. This show is certainly one to look out for and is set to become a real magnet for DC fans as they try to gap the seemingly endless years in between DC movies.
