Plumb Partners With Metro World Child In Brooklyn To Help Children In Need
Plumb, Christian pop-rock artist, is spending a few days in Brooklyn in order to help children in need through an organization called Metro World Child.
Metro World Child is a not-for-profit, faith-based, humanitarian organization that works to help inner city children in the New York City area, as well as other urban areas throughout the world. They serve thousands of children each week through their after school programs, Sunday School classes, child sponsorship opportunities, personal home visits and other special programs. The organization aims to help and encourage children through the gospel message and try to keep them from falling into destructive lifestyles down the road. They work to meet the spiritual and physical needs of children through mentorship, interaction and support.
Metro World Child was founded by Paster Bill Wilson 33 years ago and has been working with young people ever since that time. They began as Metro Ministries and have recently changed their name to Metro World Child after they were able to expand on a more world-wide scale. "This name change, I think, reflects the doors that God has opened to us, and will obviously open more doors int he future," Pastor Bill said in a video on the organization's website. Metro World Child currently has programs on over 200 different sites, including areas in New York City, the Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Kenya and India.
Plumb landed in New York City on Thursday, June 13, to begin work with the organization. Upon landing she tweeted,"Landed safely in NYC! W/ @MelissaSue78 @mrsbecwilson @simplybari http://www.plumbinfo.com/metroworldchild." By this morning, she had already helped out with 'Sidewalk Sunday School' and led devotions. She posted a photo on Twitter saying, "Leading devotions at Metro World Child. So blessed to be partnering with this great team."
She will continue working with the organization for the remainder of the weekend, where she will be speaking at a weekly staff meeting, visiting children in their homes, and helping out with indoor and outdoor sunday schools in which about 4,000 children participate each weekend, according tobreathcast.
Plumb, whose real name is Tiffany Arbuckle, began her solo career in 2000 and has become very successful over the last decade or so. Her most recent released work was her newest album, 'Need You Now,' released in February 2013. The most popular song on the album is the the title track, 'Need You Now (How Many Times).' She has a history of service and her music has always communicated messages about serving and being faithful to God.
Plumb will continue to update social media sites, her Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, in order to share her experiences with her fans. She will also be posting updated videos and other content on her website at http://www.plumbinfo.com/metroworldchild/.
