Sons of Guns Cancelled by Discovery Channel; Star charged with Aggrevated Rape
Sons of Guns, a reality television series originally aired in Discovery Channel, has now been cancelled reported by TMZ.
Sons of Guns premiered back in 2011 and focused on Red Jacket firearms LLC, a Louisiana-based business that manufactures and sells custom-made weapons, and its owner Will Hayden and his daughter/business partner Stephanie Hayden.
Founder and former owner of Red Jacket Firearms Will Hayden was arrested on Tuesday and charged with aggravated rape. He was first arrested earlier this month for the alleged rape of his own 12-year old daughter, but was later released on bail.
A Discovery Channel representative gave the following statement: "Given the serious and horrific nature of the charges against Will Hayden, we have decided to halt further production of Sons of Guns and cancel the series." Red Jacket Firearms also announced that they have now legally separated as an entity from Will Hayden.
This is not the first time the weapons business, Red Jacket Firearms, has run into legal trouble. Back in 2009, during an inspection by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Red Jacket could not account for ten registered guns. William Hayden and Stephanie Hayden surrendered their gun-making licenses, and chose a licensed person to control Red Jacket in accordance with a settlement. Also in 2011 during the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a staff member of Jupiter Entertainment, the Sons of Guns production company, parked a rental truck full of automatic weapons and fireworks outside the Dallas/Forth Worth International Airport. The FBI investigated the scene but found nothing illegal in nature.
