iWatch Release Date, Rumors And Price: Apple's First Smartwatch, iWatch, May Be Unveiled As Soon As Next Month Alongside The iPhone 6
We have the latest news for you on the release date, rumors and price of the iWatch. Apple's first smartwatch, which is also known as the iWatch, may be unveiled very soon, as soon as next month, alongside the much awaited iPhone 6. A technology news site, Re/code has reported that the giant company will announce a brand new wearable device on 9th September this year.
Apple is rumored to be releasing the iPhone 6 in two sizes, with a larger 5.5-inch Phablet version which will be named the iPhone 6L. Apple has never announced and released an iPhone on the same day. Foad Fadaghi, Telsyte analyst said that it was difficult to say whether Apple would choose to unveil the products simulteniously given that the forthcoming iPhone 6 was much more than just an evolution of the previous product. Mr. Fadaghi said, "It comes down to whether or not the wearable product is positioned as a compliment to the iPhone. If it is, there's a likelihood it will demonstrate some peripherals and apps that work with the iPhone."
The other smartwatches that are already in the market such as the Samsung Galaxy gear connect with users' smartphone and utilize lite versions of apps, but tend to have limited functionality. Many analysts expect that Apple may produce something a little bit more sophisticated than its rivals in the smartwatch market, especially given the long time Apple has taken to release the new product. As its World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, Apple unveiled HealthKit and HomeKit- a "framework for communicating with and controlling connected devices in a user's home".
As to what the iWatch will look like, Apple has managed to keep it a closely guarded secret. Rival electronics manufacturer LG is reportedly about to reveal a smartwatch in the classic shape of an analog timepiece. Previous rumors held that Apple was planning to unveil its iWatch at an event in October. Invitations to Apple product launch events typically surface a week before hand, though none have appeared yet. The iWatch is also rumored to carry a $300 price tag but this is yet to be confirmed.
As we expect the iWatch to be released, we only need to be patient and see how it goes. You can count on us for more information as they surface about the iWatch.
