iWatch Release Date, Rumors, Price, Leak And Reports: Apple Expected To Release The iWatch Alongside The iPhone 6 In A September Special Event With A Possible iWatch Price Already Discussed
We have the latest news for you on the release date, rumors, price, leak and reports of the iWatch. Apple's long awaited smartwatch, dubbed iWatch, is scheduled for release this year and probably next week during Apple's September 9th event. At least that's what the evidence suggests and we are certainly convinced. On 28th August, Apple sent out press invitations to a 9th September special event, where we expect to see the iPhone 6 and rumors have it that the iWatch will be released on the same day.
Reports from Recode claim that Apple executives have discussed charging $400 for the iWatch which is far much expensive than the rivals. It is a third more expensive than the Samsung's current high end model. This would put Apple's iWatch at the high-end of the smartwatch market. Last week, Samsung launched its curved S watch but did not announce how much it would cost. Apple's biggest rival, Samsung, will be waiting to see how much the iWatch will cost, next week maybe, before they set the price for their smartwatch.
The iWatch is expected to be unveiled during the upcoming event but will not go on sale until 2015 to give the developers enough time to write apps for the device. It is very likely that the device will run a modified version of the upcoming iOS software, but the app size and function will need to be different to accommodate the smaller screen, processing power and watch tools. Apple has already given hints about the wearable in the latest update to its iOS software, including the health tracking capabilities.
The smartwatch is said to have a 1.5-inch screen and will use Bluetooth to communicate with other devices, which includes an iPhone. The iWatch will also, probably, make good use of Apple's HealthKit health and fitness platform. Recode said, 'It will also - predictably- make good use of HomeKit, the company's new framework for controlling connected devices- though it is not clear how broadly or in what way.' The watch could also be used as a remote control to change music tracks or pause video, on the phone or tablet. As we wait for the release of the iWatch, you can count on us for more information as we get it.
