Homeland season 4 premiere date is confirmed and scheduled for airing on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 9 PM EST as per their official website sho.com. The website is also showcasing the teason trailer of the upcoming Showtime hit 'Homeland' season 4 series. 2 episodes will be aired back to back on the premiere night.

A lot is been talked about the story or plot of the upcoming Homeland season 4. Alex Gansa in her interview with TVGuide said that "the show is about the private and public costs of keeping America safe. That's the overarching theme of the season."

The political thriller season 4 will take a new dimension with foreign missions in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Middle East. Saul Berenson recently expressed his thoughts about the new version saying "It hasn't been a 14-year war we've been waging, but a one-year war, waged 14 times." It is said that there will more pain and deaths and some intense emotional shots.

Talking about the cast, producers claimed Morena Baccarin will not be starring in the new season. Carrie and Maggie are confirmed to be in as per the teaser. Rupert Friend, Mandy Patinkin, Tracy Letts, Nazanin Boniadi and Laila Robins are some of the names in the cast list. The shoot is mostly done ins South Africa. The new season will have 12 episodes.
