Mary J. Blige New Album Release slated for November and will be inspired by London's music scene, Mentions Adele's freedom of music
Mary J. Blige is expected to release her forthcoming album in the next couple of months. The new album will be a string of London's hottest act collaborations - Disclosure and Sam Smith - from last year.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul recently embarked on a month long crusade to London climaxing in the release of "Mary J. Blige: The London Sessions"
According to an interview with the British newspaper, The Guardian, the album will consist of 10 tracks and the New York native talked about her creative journey towards the album's completion: "Our idea was to become part of London," she revealed, "to really embrace the culture - to really live in it. Not that I haven't been here before, but I've never had the chance to really soak in it the way I have this time. To make records from the London-scene perspective. The music is free over here the way it used to be in the States. Artists are just free to do what they love. Listening to the radio you can hear the freedom. The music is living and breathing - you can hear that from Adele's last album. It was massive - a big deal. But she did what she loved."
The album will be Blige's second album for this year. The first album was a soundtrack to "Think Like a Man Too" and has debuted at Number 6 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. It sold a massive 9,000 copies despite the meager first week sales. In the end, the Grammy Award winner had managed to hammer down her 16th top ten album.
