'American Gods' TV Series Update and Latest News: HBO vs Starz? - American Gods Of Neil Gaiman CONFIRMED To Air in Starz Channel! What Happened HBO? [Full Audiobook Included]
A little more than three years ago, on the 3rd of June, 2011, to be more exact, HBO had published its first post about Neil Gaiman's American Gods, and how it was "courting" both the book and the author for a significant period of time, as an HBOWatch.com article has reported. Now, the giant media channel has published an American Gods update, admitting that it will no longer be the one to air the TV series.
In HBO's American Gods news update, it has explained that the TV series adaptation of Neil Gaiman's book has been signed with the Starz Channel. As you may well be aware of, Starz is one of HBO's biggest competitors.
It was also reported that the American Gods TV series will have Michael Green, one of the executive producers of the hit TV series "Heroes" that was aired on NBC, and Bryan Fuller, the showrunner for "Hannibal," another NBC show, spearhead the book's adaptation. According to the article, both will supposedly help in writing out the pilot episode.
Fuller has also made a statement regarding his involvement in the production of the TV series: "Neil Gaiman has created the holiest of holy toy boxes with American Gods and filled it with all manner of magical thing, born of new gods and old. Michael Green and I are thrilled to crack this toy box wide open and unleash the fantastical titans of heaven and Earth and Neil's vividly prolific imagination."
In a separate news article, this one published by the website DenOfGeek.us, it was reported that Brian Fuller has also made a revelation that the show will not be aired till 2016. According to Fuller, "It's basically the following the events of the books but expanding those events and expanding the point of view to go above and beyond Shadow and Wednesday."
