NBA News, Reveals, Review and Rumors: Donald Sterling and Bruce Levenson Scandals Provide Precedence for NBA Owners Henceforth
After the Donald Sterling scandal, the secret considering the NBA had played itself out quite predictably. Since commissioner, Adam Silvers banishment concerning the owners of the Los Angeles Clippers, there were a lot of groups that gave him grief concerning the NBA world as it is. The other feature is that owners started to take stock of the loose memos, as well as speaking engagements and staff meetings. People went paranoid over everything with fear of race or homophobia allegations with camera phones being turned on them in drinking venues well past midnight. One can just see the teams of investigators and high level professional cleanup crews digging into every scrap of usable evidence and trying to retrieve the information burying it before it can even be usable.
However, there are some who are standing up for themselves, as the Mavericks owner, Mark Cuba spoke publicly about the banishment of Donald Sterling for life saying that Adam Silver was on a slippery slope. Other people on the chopping bloke include Bruce Levenson who announced on Sunday that he was putting the majority ownership of the Hawks for sale after racially insensitive remarks in an email to Danny Ferry were made public. However, it seems that everyone has dirt on them including the rumors about Richard DeVos, Dan Gilbert, Clay Bennet and Ted Leonosis who are all owners of their clubs. Even those who sit at the League's board of governors have a lot to be worried about.
This is exactly what makes the Bruce Levenson drama so unappealing if you are an NBA owner. The owners are on notice as concerns their behavior because they are now able to flit away the public good ill if the things that they did in the past actually come to light. It seems that news of an NBA owner being in trouble again was already making some rounds in the NBA back channels long ago.
