BlackBerry Passport: BlackBerry Co. Breaks Away from Traditional Rules and Features
The new BlackBerry Passport is definitely unique, and it surely looks like a passport.
BlackBerry Passport is soon to have its product launch this September 24, 2014. The launch event is said to take place in London, Toronto and Dubai, it is definitely going to be a global event!
Its compact keyboard is paired with a square 4.5 x 4.5 inch HD display and a 1440 x 1440 pixel resolution. The display size may be nothing compared to other Androids out there, but this little monster is capable of showing more stuff because of its ultra-wide display. Passport's display size and aspect ratio is specifically made ideal for viewing e-books, documents and websites without having to worry about portrait/landscape modes.
The keyboard is touch-enabled and the battery life lasts more than a full day. Initial tests have proved that the gadget lasts for more than 15 hours from a single charge. It also comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 quad-core chip, Adreno 330 GPU and a 3GB RAM. It is lighter than the BlackBerry Z30, has a non-removable 3,450Ah battery pack and a microSD slot. It has a 13 megapixel back camera with an LED flash, and a 2 megapixel front camera. It is also said to have a better built-in support for Android apps.
What's more, this BlackBerry finally comes with its own version of "Siri": the BlackBerry Assistant. Among other features, what makes this virtual buddy different from the rest is that it has full control over the phone's settings and apps; ask it to do something, and it does. It's that simple.
BlackBerry is definitely trying to create a smartphone competitive enough for the Android market today. The company is up to breaking some of its traditional rules and features to set a new bar for the brand, starting with their BlackBerry Passport.
