Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. release date is set on September 23 this year. ABC will air the second season in the U.S. while Channel 4 will air it in the United Kingdom.

Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Update for Second Season

The second season starts with Phil Coulson's declaration, "This is a make or break moment. I am going to finish what I started."

S.H.I.E.L.D. has just been infiltrated and its security has been compromised by its old time nemesis - the Hydra organization.

Most, if not all, of the cast members and characters in season 1 will return in season 2. According to Digital Spy, new characters and cast will also be introduced in the upcoming Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D Season 3 including:

Agents of SHIELD - Spinoff

There will be an Agent of SHIELD spinoff show called Agent Carter. As part of its promotion, Agent Carter (played by Hayley Atwell) will make a guest appearance in the second season premiere of Agents of SHIELD.

Aside from Atwell, Neal McDonough and Kenneth Choi will also make their appearances. The two actors were part of Captain America's Howling Commandos.

Not much  details have been revealed regarding the spinoff. Agent Peggy Carter was first introduced in Captain America: First Avenger. In the second Captain America Movie - Winter Soldier she had a guest appearance initailly as the young agent Carter. Later in the movie, she was shown as a bedridden old woman who seems to be suffering from Alzheimers.
