Longmire Canceled?: Television's Thriller to be cancelled after 3 Seasons?
Based on bestselling author's novel, Craig Johnson, "Longmire" is reported taken off the air after three thrilling seasons.
Many would certainly miss the character of Walt Longmire, a law-abiding sheriff who is haing a hard time braving the pain from being widowed and moving on with his life. The plot revolves around the skills and psychic-like talent of Longmire in finding who the suspects to homicides and murders that takes place in the small town of Wyoming.
Walt Longmire and his daughter, who dreams of one day being a lawyer in the huge city, make a good tandem in the series. Longmire and his skilled means of solving cases in their small town certainly captured significant amount of fans, keeping them at the edges of their seats. This is why this possible cancellation can indeed be, devastating.
According to various online sites, the series was cancelled by A&E because of the audience tuning into the show was not the one the company wants. According to reports, the age of the viewers that tuned into "Longmire" were those who ranged from fifty to seventy years of age.
Critics and many viewers of the show were outraged by the cancellation. Most took to forums and online sites to vent out their frustration with A&E on their decision to cancel the show. Most of the fans of the series didn't understand why it was cancelled since the ratings of the show were doing pretty good according to surveys and reports.
A statement was issued by A&E, apologizing for the choice which they had to make saying:
"We would like to thank the phenomenal cast, crew and producers of 'Longmire,' along with our partners at Warner Horizon, for their tireless work on three seasons of quality dramatic storytelling, We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together."
Fans still have their fingers crossed though for a comeback of the thriller series while some are going back to reading the "Longmire" novels where the series was derived from.
