iPhone 6 Mania Begins as it goes on sale in Asia: Black-market thriving!
Tech giant Apple's newest iPhone 6 hit the stores on Friday. People could not be more excited. Unfortunately, the releasing of these iPhones is not the same across the world. This is why, the black market organizations are now very active regarding the iPhone 6 sale. Many buyers from Australia and Hong Kong are going for the black market.
In 2010, several Chinese people waited outside Apple stores all night to purchase iPhone 4s. After purchasing the coveted phone that time, they sold the smartphones to a middleman in China who had the link to ship them to Shanghai, where they were sold in the black market at premium prices. It is anticipated that this year, the same might happen.
The attention over the release of iPhone 6 has been pretty high since Cook revealed the phone on 9th September. When the preorder session started, the carriers company recorded almost 4 million orders in the first 24 hours, which surpassed some previous releases. Resellers also reported that users are trading old phones to buy new iPhones.
Most people who headed to the Apple store to get their hands on the new iPhones did not even know what version of the iPhone 6 to get yet. The bottom line is, they just want a new iPhone, especially since the two versions are considerably larger than the previous versions and have desirable features.
Elias Kartout from Paris was eagerly waiting among the hundreds outside the Apple store and was not even sure for what he was waiting. He shared he is confused between iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. He just wanted the latest phone and would choose on what was available in the store. This is a common feeling with all the buyers lining for these phones.
