Fallout 4 News: What We Know about Bethesda's Upcoming New Game Fallout 4, Release Date, Characters, and Setting
Bethesda Game Studios is still working on the Fallout 4, their next video game after Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. There isn't much detail yet on the upcoming Bethesda game, but many are anxious to know all that's been going around about the new game since 2008, so let's have a look at it.
It is said that the next Fallout project started as early as February 2012. Since Bethesda finished the Skyrim's DLC a year ago, they are expected to be working on their next project, which is the Fallout 4. The studio said, "Parts of our team have also been in pre-production on our next major project, and that game is at the point where it requires the studio's full attention to make it our biggest and best work yet".
Pete Hines, the vice president of Bethesda's PR, told TVG in 2008, "This is not something we're going to do once and then go away and never do it again. When that will be or how long that will be god only knows, but we acquired it specifically because we wanted to own it and develop it and work on it like we do with The Elder Scrolls".
Based on leaked documents, the next post-apocalyptic RPG game is said to be set in Boston, as in "The Commonwealth" of the previous Fallout series, and the same source points out the protagonist's great grandfather who served in the army in 1945 as a part of the upcoming game.
As for the characters, only voice actor Erik Todd Dellums confirmed his involvement with the new Fallout game. Dellums tweeted that he might be reprising his role as "Three Dog" in the upcoming game. It was later said that Bethesda permitted the tweet. Based on leaked documents on voice acting, there may be another DJ called "Travis Miles", an engineer named "Sturges", and another character called "Preston Garvey". "Sturges" is described as "a cross between Buddy Holly and Vin Diesel".
As for the release date, based on the timeline of Bethesda's game developments so far, it is likely that the Fallout 4 will come out around this November. Yet, given what VP Pete Hines said, the predicted release date might also be unrealistic.
The Fallout 4 video game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
