Supergirl TV Series Premiere, Plot, and Cast: CBS orders Creation of Supergirl TV series
Supergirl is finally emerging from the confines of comic book pages to the small screen. The Supergirl series will be produced by Greg Berlanti, known for bringing Arrow and The Flash, two DC series under The CW wing, and Ali Adler, who has worked with Chuck and Glee. As the trend for the need for more female heroes, it would seem that this new Supergirl series is going to meet that demand.
According to reports the Supergirl series plot will revolve around Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, and her struggle as she begins to learn of her newly emerging superpowers. By the way, she's a 24-year old girl.
Original plans stated that writer and producer Michael Green was set to work on the television series under CW however, it would seem that this is not the case.
Previous adaptations of Supergirl involve the 1948 film starring Helen Slater. Supergirl, played by Laura Vandervoort, appeared in a previous Superman-origin television series, Smallville.
The Supergirl series will be joining other superhero themed television series such as Gotham, The Flash, Arrow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Constantine. However, it is unsure if this series will have any connection with the other DC television shows.
As of the moment there has been no confirmed news on the Supergirl cast, premiere date, or episode guide. However, we will keep you informed with the latest news once we get a hold of them.
