First release after the takeover of the BlackBerry by Mr. Chen is going to hit the smartphone rack with the name BlackBerry Passport. It's very much comparable to Samsung's upcoming revolutionary phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Let's go through the features of those devices.
Note 4 will bring giant 5.7-inch screen which is AMOLED Quad HD display. The resolution is 2560 x 1440 along with 515ppi pixel density. In contrast, the Passport provides moderate display size of 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with 453ppi pixel density. The Quad HD display of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 takes the device to a new level, which will let user to experience the best image resolution available in the market.
Note 4 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 Krait 450 processor along with clock speed of 2.7Ghz while Passport will feature quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 800) processor with 2.26 GHz frequency. The operating system of the Galaxy Note 4 is OS v4.4.4 KitKat. Blackberry Passport will have the operating system of BlackBerry 10.3 OS. Note 4 has 3GB of RAM but the RAM of Passport has not been clearly declared yet.
Samsung Note 4 has a body of metallic rim coated leather backside finishing which gives the phablet a very smart look. BlackBerry Passport comes with unique squared design along with a QWERTY keyboard, which looks smart and sophisticated as wekll. The square display will allow user to see 60 digits per line while reading. BlackBerry brings the QWERTY back promisingly and the keypad will have the capability of double touch-enabled track pad. Passport is business-oriented phone, which is .36-inches thick whereas Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is 0.44-inch thick in dimensions. Passport seems pretty heavier as it weighs 194.4g while Note 4 weighs only 176g with a giant display.
Note 4 brings 16MP rear facing camera with LED flash and 3.7MP front facing camera while Passport features 13MP rear facing camera with LED flash and the front facing camera is 3.7MP. Passport beats Note 4 with 3,450 mAh battery capacity while Note 4 has 3,220 mAh battery unit capacity. This battery life might persuade people to get the Passport.
BlackBerry Passport will have the price tag of $599 while the launched price of Note 4 will be $700.
