NBC's A to Z premieres on October 2, Ben Feldman and Cristin Milioti star in one of the most anticipated rom-com series of the season
A to Z news: NBC is set to premiere two romantic comedy series this season - Marry Me and A to Z, the latter airing on October 2.
NBC's A to Z is the story of how Andrew, a hopeless romantic, met and fell in love with the commitment-phobic Zelda, all within a span of eight months, three weeks, five days and one hour. Ben Feldman and Cristin Milioti play the titular couple.
A to Z also stars Henry Zebrowski, Lenora Crichlow, Christina Kirk, and Hong Chau.
NBC's A to Z was inspired by series creator Ben Queen's own love story.
Queen, who was once a part of Pixar, said developing the series was "like graduate screenwriting school. The big take away was take the time, do the hard work in the first act to make your audience care about the story and the characters. I'm trying to do that every week on the show and have an emotional tie-in."
"We're really trying to take the time to take you through this particular couple's relationship so you don't miss anything," Queen shared.
"And at the end of that, they don't date anymore. And whether they break up or get married or whatever is left up to the audience to wonder but we have ideas about where it's going to go."
A to Z's pilot episode fared well, with audiences rooting for the charming and likeable Andrew and Zelda.
"It depends on which day you get me. I would say I believe in destiny 85 per cent of the time -- no, 94 per cent of the time. I do think that if the right song is playing and the sunlight is good and hits me a certain way, I believe in it," says Zelda, who strongly believes in destiny.
Is NBC's A to Z destined for TV success? We'll find out by October 2.
