Nicole Scherzinger Join's West End's 'Cats' Production In Starring Role
Singer/entertainer Nicole Scherzinger has announced that she will be joining the musical Cats. She will be making her West End debut in the Andrew Lloyd Webber feature.
"Andrew's score is breathtaking and I am truly honoured to have been asked to take part in what I know will be a very special time in my career," Scherzinger said of her part in the musical.
The 36-year-old singer will play Grizabella, the glamour cat, for 12 weeks starting on Dec. 6.
"I am really thrilled to be making my West End debut in such an iconic show," Scherzinger said. "I grew up listening to Andrew's extraordinary music and was lucky enough, a couple of years ago, to record Cats' beautiful song Memory."
Scherzinger is best known as lead vocalist of the popular group Pussycat Dolls in the 2000's. They sold 54 million albums as a lead singer with Pussycat Dolls, making the group one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.
She was was a judge in the U.K.'s reality singing competition The X Factor. She also showed off her dancing skills as a contestant on ABC's Dancing With The Stars being parred with pro Derek Hough. They won Season 10.
Scherzinger is also returning to her solo music and released a new single "Run" online. The beautiful ballad with serious song content could bring Nicole back into the popular music equation. This could be the best she she has ever released and she sings it with such emotion.
