'A Good Marriage' Trailer and Updates - A Novel by Stephen King
A new trailer was released for Stephen King's "A Good Marriage," and it has been a while since Stephen King made a film based on one of his books. The last time he did it was 25 years ago with "Pet Sematary." The book, as well as the movie, tells a story of a typical couple, Bob (Anthony LaPaglia) and Darcy Anderson (Joan Allen) - successful marriage with the family living in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
The trailer showed a dead female wrapped in plastic followed by a scene where Bob Anderson is actually shedding a tear - a sign of guilt maybe? Then it went on with the family celebrating the marriage of their daughter. The daughter even mentioned the fact that her parents have managed to do something extraordinary - a good marriage. The ordinary life of the Anderson was rattled when Darcy discovered a box containing the IDs of missing women who eventually turns out to be dead.
Darcy doesn't know what to do then came a twist where Darcy said, "Just like they say, two can keep a secret, if one of them is dead." This raises the question - what did Darcy do?
In an interview, Stephen King said that his inspiration came from the "infamous BTK Killer, Dennis Rader." King added, "She never had a clue of what he was doing and this secret life that he had. And so I started to think, I wonder how many of us are sleeping with strangers and what we really know about the people that we think we're close to."
There are those who question if it is right to mention the fact that BTK is the "inspiration" behind everything. Kerri Rawson, Dennis Radner daughter said, "He is exploiting my father's 10 victims and their families." Rawson added, "He has said he is sorry, but that means nothing. He is not worth all the books and the news stories and all the attention. He's [King] just going to give my father a big head, and he absolutely does not need that. Great - now Stephen King is giving my father a big head. Thanks for that. That's the last thing my dad should get."
