"Windows 10" Features, Specs, Release Date: All the Things That You Wanted to Know
The latest update from Microsoft - the much-awaited Windows 10 was viewed in San Francisco on Tuesday, dodging the name Windows 9. According to the company, they are not looking forward to the increment to their OS updates rather they are bringing a new operating system with new features. So the name was changed to Windows 10 rather than increasing numerically.
So far only the desktop version of the latest operating has system has been demonstrated. Lately the version for tablets, notebooks, and smartphones will also be revealed. The interesting part is that the company is bringing back the start menu again. Lots of complains were made when the Start Menu was dropped from the Windows 8. The Start menu will be similar to Windows 7 start menu with customize-able apps and live tiles will also be present there. Live tiles will make the screen more attractive and the tiles will be re-sizable like Windows 8.
The metaphor feature is back. User will be able to re-size new apps and will be able to drag them like the Win32app. The available screen space will be filled with the apps automated size.
Windows 10 will allow users to zoom out to see what backgrounds apps are running and user will be able to select any of them with the OS X Mission control. The multitasking feature is a great addition to the latest version of the Windows 10. Users will be able to open quadrant, which will show four programs together in a window. The quadrant is re-sizable and very much handy while working on several tasks together.
The new OS will launch probably in the mid of next year. It will go through several tests and gradually the tablet, smartphone and notebook version will be demonstrated Microsoft is not saying about price yet, or any incentive program to get people to upgrade older OS.
According to Belifore, the touch-enabled system is going to stay. There is another interesting feature, which is tentatively being called "continuum," for people using the very versatile two-in-one PCs. When the keyboard will be detached from the OS then the user will be asked if he wants to go into tablet mode or not.
